Hospital Cancer Center
Syska Hennessy is providing complete HVAC, electrical, plumbing
and fire protection engineering design services for Queens Hospital
Center's new 350,000 square foot replacement hospital.
The facility, owned by the NYC Heath and Hospitals Corporation,
will accommodate a 200-bed inpatient program and multiple outpatient
"centers of excellence".
The major centers of excellence will provide Women's Health and
Oncology services, and the facility will also provide 120,000 sq.
ft. of comprehensive community primary, specialty, and ambulatory
care, along with shared outpatient and inpatient diagnostic services.

The ambulatory care/outpatient programs include:
Women's Health:
Breast stereotactic and mammography services; Ultrasound;
Physical and occupational therapy
Cancer Care:
Chemotherapy; Consultation
Radiology:
Diagnostic and treatment; MRI; CAT scan; Simulator; R/F
The new facility represents a significant reduction in inpatient
beds in favor of an increase in ambulatory care services.
The new building will be located on an existing campus with supporting
facilities as well as a central boiler plant.
