Syska Hennessy Group was selected to lead the design of a site
adaptation
for a 160 bed, 60 acre hospital to serve the residents of Gilbert and East Valley
Community. The Medical Center, part of a master plan medical campus will provide
the residents of Gilbert (known as the largest growth city in the United States)
with their first medical center, providing comprehensive medical services including
an emergency department, women’s services, outpatient surgery and diagnostic
imaging.

Innovations and Solutions:
Our team cohesively participated in a design-assist approach to the
project with the end result to ensure the successful constructability
and operability of the new facility. Based on our on-going relationship
with CHW and the contractor we developed clear communication channels
to ensure that the design was understood and that change orders would be limited to
ensure a fast-track approach. This project opened a year ahead of schedule
as a result of our team’s leadership approach in utilizing drawings for a project
originally designed for San Martin, Las Vegas and adapting it successfully
and cohesively for the City of Gilbert.
