Hoag Heart Vascular Institute is one of the preeminent cardiovascular
centers in Southern California. With a need to expand their facilities
to accommodate
patient demand, in line with the hospital’s state of the
art reputation, Hoag
elected to design a new South Tower.
Project Features:
- 96 beds
- Super cold operating rooms
- Site utility study
- Base isolators
- 100% outside air system
- Integrated low voltage design
Innovations and Solutions:
As a continued movement to provide patients with the latest in
technology and patient care, Hoag Memorial asked our team to
study the benefits and payback associated with incorporating
a 100% outside air system. The project team performed a design/cost
analysis to determine the value of 100% outside air versus the
use of an economizer with an end result showing an energy/cost
savings of $318K and a payback of 1.26 years.
As an integrated offering to the client, Syska will provide technology
design services. The Low Voltage integration strategy will support
multi-product, multi-vendor environments/systems and facilitates
the integration of low voltage systems such as building automation,
alarms/security, access control, energy management, audio/video
paging, service/equipment alarms and non-voice/data communications
over one unified structured cabling.
